Standard Week
The plan for the week will look different for each participant depending on their work, church, and other life factors. Here is an example of what a week might look like.
Monday: All in Training
Our morning starts at 9.30am with a devotion and prayer time. We want the Bible and Prayer to be the first thing we do, the foundation of our week and our lives. We have morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea together, whilst enjoying subjects from the Preliminary Theological Certificate, Leadership and Discipleship Group, and Special Workshops showcasing ministry in the West.
Tuesday: Day Off
After a big Sunday at Church and Monday in training, you might choose to have Tuesday as one of your days off.
We all need a sabbath and this is a good pattern to establish in a young adult’s life. Whatever their training plan looks like; participants need to schedule in a day off each week and will be encouraged to take both a weekday and Saturday off.
Wednesday + Thursday: School Placement (or work)
We would love for every participant to be placed in a Christian School where they can serve in ministry and earn an income. It could involve helping with School Scripture, Chapel, Lunchtime Groups, School Camps and excursions, or working as a teachers aide. Depending on your schedule, you may be involved in mid-week ministries at your church.
If not possible (or you want to be free from school for a while!), we encourage participants to find work elsewhere.
Friday: Local Church
Friday is set aside for local church involvement. This might involve meeting with a mentor, youth and kids ministry, school scripture, or preparation and planning time.
Saturday: Day Off
Saturday is a Day Off and could look like anything! We wouldn't be surprised if it involved family, sport, or just hanging out with your mates.
Sunday: Local Church
Sunday is set aside for the local church - arrive early, prepared to help with kids or youth ministry - leave late, kick on for dinner after an evening gathering.
